8:30 Pledge of Allegiance
Gordon Sirrine was present.
9:40 Sheriff Josh McQuillan met with Commissioners regarding his request to increase the Public Safety salary budget to add a transport officer and to increase the base wage of the Head Dispatcher. Angela noted the cost of a transport officer’s salary and fringe was $66,840 at 75% of the Sheriff’s base wage or $81,000 for a probationary deputy at 85% of the Sheriff’s base wage. Commissioner Bullock requested Sheriff Josh McQuillan develop a job description for the Transport Officer. Both Commissioners believe the position is warranted but are concerned about the cost of salary budgets overall.
10:00 Clerk and Recorder Marcia Henigman met with Commissioners regarding salary increase requests for Deputies Christine Stovall and Lola Ashby. Marcia and Commissioners also discussed additional overlapping staff with upcoming retirements. Commissioner DeArmond moved to approve salary increase requests effective July 1; Commissioner Bullock seconded; motion carried.
10:15 CB Clearwood with the Montana Department of Transportation met with Commissioners to discuss the Roberts Highway 212 project. There is one last parcel to close and the landowner, Marco LeRow, has requested the State pay title in fee for the parcel as he does not want to pay taxes on an easement. The State asked if the County was willing to accept title in fee or if it would like an easement. Commissioner Bullock would like to review with County Attorney and Clerk and Recorder.
10:30 Gordon left the meeting. Commissioners discussed expanding Floodplain Administrator duties to include DES aspects. Commissioners would like a separate job description for the Asst./Deputy DES Coordinator position. Commissioners discussed the salary increase request for Deputy County Attorney Shannon Foley.
