Commissioners Robert ‘Pits’ DeArmond, Bill Bullock, Scott Blain and Clerk and Recorder Marcia Henigman were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance
8:50 Commissioner Blain moved to approve the commissioner minutes of December 13, 2018; Commissioner DeArmond seconded the motion; motion carried.
9:00 Cooperative Agreement between Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services and Carbon County Board of Health was reviewed; Commissioner DeArmond moved to approve the cooperative agreement; Commissioner Blain seconded the motion; motion carried.
9:30: FY 2019 Extension Services Agreement between Montana State University Extension and Carbon County was reviewed; Commissioner Blain moved to approve the agreement; Commissioner DeArmond seconded the motion; motion carried.
10:00 Carbon County Sanitarian Josh Juarez and Sanitarian Secretary Lori Kane joined the commissioners in a conference call with Travis West of Engineering West regarding contract sanitarian services until Josh’s replacement is hired. It was agreed that the county needs assistance in septic inspections for pending projects and DEQ reviews. Travis will work up a quote for services. Finalizing permits and food inspections will be addressed as they come up.
A further discussion was had about the sanitarian position itself and a look at the job description and the workload of this position in Carbon County; Josh explained the “trainee” opportunity through MDIL and would be willing to be a supervisor.
10:30 Barb Mettler of South Central Regional Mental Health Center stopped in with an update for the commissioners.
10:45 GIS/DES Coordinator Tom Kohley reviewed publication of a request for proposals with the commissioners.
