Carbon County Invasive Plant Department Mission
What are Noxious Weeds?
Meet the Staff
Brian Ostwald, Carbon County Invasive Plant Specialist
P: (406) 962-3967
bostwald@carbonmt.gov
Brian has been with Carbon County Weed District since 2004. Being in the field and working with the landowners in the county is the most rewarding part of being the Weed District Coordinator. The diverse country and people in this county are the biggest challenges. Born and raised in Montana, Brian has seen the damage to the land caused by noxious weeds and has a passion for their removal. With his staff and Weed Board, he has developed one of the finest weed districts in the state and has made a huge contribution in stopping the spread of noxious weeds.
Rob Wallila, Crew Foreman
P: (406) 962-3967
Rob has been the keystone to the success of the weed district since 1993. Born on a ranch near Roberts, he knows every back road and patch of weeds in the county. Rob is the weed identification guru of the county. His mechanical expertise has saved the county thousands of dollars with his ability to troubleshoot and fix breakdowns on the spot. Rob and his crew spray every state and county road along with all FWP, BLM, DNRC lands and all towns in the county. A true Weed Warrior.
