Commissioners Doug Tucker and John Prinkki and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance
DES Coord. / GIS Mgr. Tom Kohley met with Commissioners regarding emergency work in rock creek due to ice jams and flooding.
Commissioner Prinkki moved to approve Commissioner Proceedings for January 19th and 23rd; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
9:00 County Attorney Alex Nixon and Civil Deputy Attorney Jacque Papez met with Commissioners. They discussed Marsy’s law and creating position to comply with its provisions; that position could also serve as victim witness advocate. The position is on the February 9th agenda. Alex will not be renewing the criminal deputy contract with Scott Peterson. There has not been any more correspondence from EverPower. Commissioners requested Jacque draft the agreement noted in the New and Expanding Industry Resolutions and a letter requesting first payment for Impact Fee.
Commissioner Prinkki commented that he intends to work with Western Sky Solutions on non-Carbon County projects after he retires.
Commissioners received a letter from the Roberts Rural Fire District No. 6 requesting the $15,000 collected for subdivision Alternative Fire Impact Fees. Commissioner Prinkki moved to release funds from Subdivision Alternate Fire Fee fund in the amount of $15,000 to Roberts Rural Fire District; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
10:00 Commissioner Prinkki moved to appoint Skip Bratton as the Red Lodge District Representative on the Carbon County Planning Board; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried. Commissioners did not receive interest for Historic Preservation board position or interest from a Red Lodge Representative for the Fair Board. Those appointments will be postponed.
