COMMISSIONERS’ PROCEEDINGS

Commissioners Doug Tucker and John Grewell and Administrative Assistant Angela Newell were present.

8:30 Pledge of Allegiance

Commissioner Tucker moved to approve County Treasurer Cash report for December 2016; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.

Commissioner Tucker moved to accept District Court Fines and Fees Summary for December 2016; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.

9:00 Civil Deputy Attorney Jacque Papez met with Commissioners. They discussed Crowley Fleck being retained by EverPower regarding the New and Expanding Industry resolutions. EverPower oppose the provisions of the resolutions calling for an independent audit to evaluate the project’s return on investment, the provision that grants the assessment only if the project falls below a target return on investment, and the provision that prevents them from protesting their taxes with the Department of Revenue. The County has not received official correspondence regarding this.

Clerk and Recorder Marcia Henigman, met with Jacque and Commissioners regarding the Election Administrator job vacancy. Marcia received nine (9) applicants, believes she will be interviewing 3.

9:25 County Attorney Alex Nixon joined the meeting. He plans to invoke a two (2) month extension on the contract with Scott Peterson. Alex also noted Marsy’s Law will go into effect July 1, 2017. He plans to meet with the Sheriff and police chiefs to discuss how all entities in the County plan to comply with the constitutional amendment and discuss coordinating those efforts.

9:40 Commissioner Grewell moved Resolution 2017-01 Transfer Chevy Tahoe to Town of Bridger; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

Commissioner Grewell moved approval of December 19, 22, and 29, 2016 Commissioners Proceedings; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

Commissioner Grewell moved to upgrade internet at courthouse to increase speeds and performance; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.

10:05 Darlene Schwend from the Conservation District met with Commissioners regarding Grant Application for Montana Range Days. Expect 3-day event to cost roughly $39,000. They hope to receive cash contributions to help cover the costs and already received commitments for significant time donations from various agencies. The grant would cover run over expenses. Commissioner Grewell moved approval of the grant application; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
