Commissioners Doug Tucker, John Grewell, and John Prinkki were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Tucker moved to accept revised lease for the Beartooth RC&D; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.
Marcia Henigman met with Commissioners regarding Mike Creeden’s term on the Carbon County Planning Board.
9:00 Jeremiah Young met with Commissioners regarding a letter received by Richard McComish from the Montana Department of Transportation to remove a sign that was permitted in error for Kibler and Kirch (Outdoor Advertising Permit #50532). Commissioners confirmed that the jurisdiction lies with MDT and is out of the County’s hands.
County Attorney Alex Nixon joined the meeting.
9:40 Sheriff Josh McQuillan met with Commissioners regarding a claim to an Employee’s business for refurbished radios. Commissioners advised that future purchases need to be processed through claims directly to the vendor or reimbursed to the employee individually rather than an employee’s personnal business interest.
Commissioner Grewell moved to amend the AFLAC insurance plan year to align with the County’s fiscal year (July 1 – June 30); Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
10:00 Weed Coordinator Brian Ostwald, County Attorney Alex Nixon, Sheriff Josh McQuillan, Safety Coordinator Pam Schwend, Road Superintendent Shawn Mains, Treasurer Jane Swanson-Webb, Clerk and Record Marcia Henigman; Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator Darrel Krum met with Commissioners and Jim Muskovich from MACo Loss Control. Jim reviewed the process for loss insident investigations and training proceedures.
10:25 Commissioner Tucker moved to approve District Court Cash Balance Report for February, 2015; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.
Commissioner Tucker moved to approve February 26th and March 2nd meeting minutes as presented; Commissioner Grewell seconded; motion carried.
Treasurer Jane Swanson-Webb met with Commissioners regarding Supertindent of Schools Contract with Jerry Scott. Commissioners have denied Mr. Scott’s request for a liability insurance waiver.
11:00 Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator Darrel Krum and Sheriff Josh McQuillan met with Commissioners for Simulcast Bid Openings. Justin Damm and Thomas Miller from Industrial Communications were present. Commissioners received one bid from Industrial Communications in the amount of $374,960.00.
Commissioner Grewell moved to accept the proposal as presented; Commissioner Tucker seconded; motion carried.
11:30 John Husar met with Commissioners to discuss tax breaks for the Mud Springs Wind Project. He will discuss his options with the Department of Revenue and make a formal request at a later date.
