Commissioners Scott Miller, Scott Blain, and Bill Bullock were present.
8:30 Pledge of Allegiance.
9:00 Brent Moore and Tyler Lindbloom from Interstate Engineering were present to provide updates and discuss grant opportunities.
Discussed a planning grant for the Edgar Lagoon to work in conjunction with FEMA projects. FEMA-related projects should be engineered this winter for 2024 construction. The grants would be for 2025-26 construction. Bullock moved, Blain second to approve Interstate to apply for the grant. Motion passed.
Discussed bridge on West Pryor that crosses Elbow Creek, further steps on Carbon Ave, and Lovers Lane in Belfry where some additional work on riprap will still need to be done as well as a revegetation plan. All three projects are to still be bid.
Regarding the Riverview Lane Bridge, a flowable fill solution to fill the voids was discussed. Permit applications are to be done this week.
Rushwater Road was discussed next. Lindbloom is not confident there is a cheap solution to fix the road correctly. Discussed a newer product called Scourlock to help with the continual sloughing. Blain asked if they were FEMA eligible and Moore confirmed that they were. Interstate will further explore options and report back.
10:00 Kate Asbury, HR Specialist gave her monthly update (report attached).
10:30 Blain moved to approve minutes from August 22, 24, and 29th. Bullock second. Motion passed.
11:00 Interstate Engineering met to discuss the change order for Wadsworth Construction and the 3 bridges being replaced. The Change Order is primarily for the realignment of the road and raising of the bridges thus increasing the costs from the original bid. Bullock moved to approve, Blain second, Motion passed.
11:50 Bullock moved to approve claims for 9/2023 for Fair premiums, Blain second, motion passed.
Asbury will post an internal notification for the open position at the Joliet Road Shop.
